Travis Cornett was a four-year letter winner with the Texas State Men’s basketball team from 1970-1974. Cornett's individual accomplishments are some of the finest in the history of the program.  He is the programs third all-time leading scorer with 1841 career points. He also has the sixth highest career scoring average at 17.2. points per game. Cornett was also a dominating rebounder and is currently fifth all-time for the Bobcats in career rebounds with 902. Cornett is tied for the most field goals made in an individual career with 733. He is ranked fourth all-time for both total points and field goals made in a season. He led the Bobcats in scoring from 1971-1974 and led the team in field goal percentage three out of his four years.

His accomplishments on the court earned him many accolades, including 1st Team All-Lone Star Conference from 1971-1974, Honorable Mention All-American from 1972-1974 and postseason team MVP in the 1973-1974 season.
