It is the communications office's intention to ensure proper, professional use is made of the space available to credentialed media. Credentials can be mailed to the visiting school's media relations director for distribution. Otherwise, all credentials are made available at Media Will-Call. Credentials can be requested by filling out forms linked at the top of this page. For any questions regarding credentials, please e-mail TXSTCredentials@txstate.edu.
Web Sites
Fan-based web sites containing at least one or more of the following: chat rooms, message boards, recruiting information, scouting reports and links to news sites, as well as other fan-based features are not issued credentials.
Local and national organizations that maintain a news-based web site in connection with their regular newspaper or magazine, as well as radio or television broadcast, can be issued credentials on a game-by-game basis if space is available in the press box or press row.
Media Services
Pregame packages, including notes, statistics and programs, are made available to the media prior to each athletics event. For football and basketball, periodic statistics are made available during contests and final statistics are distributed as soon as possible following each event. Members of the media may also request their media outlet be placed on a post-game e-mail list to receive statistics at the conclusion of an event.
Interview Policies
Texas State University's athletics department coordinates interviews between the media and its student-athletes, coaching staff and administrative personnel. Depending on practice, class and meeting schedules, Texas State student-athletes and coaches are available prior to or at the conclusion of practice.
Following events, each sport's coach and selected student-athletes can be made available for media interviews after a brief cooling off period. Media may also request particular players for post-game interview consideration.
Phone interviews with student-athletes and coaches are arranged around class, meeting and practice schedules and must be requested at least 48 hours in advance.
Any interviews with Athletics administrative personnel must be requested 24 hours in advance as well through associate athletics director, Lindsey Olsen.
Credentialing
Media members covering visiting institutions are asked to request credentials through the school's communications office to expedite their request as well as ensure distribution of credentials prior to the event. All other credentials will be available at Media Will Call one hour prior to kickoff. Media Will Call is located at Gate 2 of UFCU Stadium. Credentials are separated into media and photo, with photo credentials only approved for members of the media with a working content capture role.
Press Box
Working press box credentials are issued to only accredited newspapers, radio and television reporters. Requests from other media sources will evaluated on a game-by-game basis. Credentials must be displayed prominently throughout the game, including pre- and post-game coverage. Pregame interviews with players and/or coaches will not be permitted under any circumstance.
Photography
Sideline credentials are issued only to accredited photographers and television reporters/camera operators on assignment. Freelance and amateur photographers not on assignment will not be approved for credentials. All Sun Belt Conference and NCAA rules shall be enforced regarding media representatives on the sidelines. Photographers are not permitted to shoot between the 25-yard lines on either sideline or behind team benches.
For additional information or questions regarding still photography at UFCU Stadium, contact the Communications Office or the University Marketing Office at (512) 245-1555.
