George Carlisle was a letter winner in football from 1946-1948 and basketball from 1945-1949. He was an important member of the 1948 Lone Star Conference team and was named to the All - Conference team in 1948. He was also an All-Lone Star Conference player in basketball from 1947-1949, and co-captain of the basketball team during the 1948-1949 season. In addition, Carlisle was Secretary-Treasurer of the “T”- Association his junior year of 1948.
