Lee Lundin was a four-year letter winner for the Bobcats football team from 1983-1986. A defensive specialist, Lundin played several positions for the Bobcats including strong safety, cornerback and nickel back. He also excelled for the Bobcats as a special teams player.
Lundin started his career at Texas State as a two-sport athlete playing both baseball and red shirting on the football team. During his second year as a collegiate athlete, he decided to concentrate solely on football and made an immediate impact on special teams during his first season on the team.
As a sophomore, Lundin had his first start as a cornerback during the Bobcats game against Wichita State and was named Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against Central Florida. During his junior year, he continued his role as defensive back and special teams player and was again named Special Teams Player of the Week during the Bobcats’ game against Nicholls State.
During his final year at Texas State, Lundin made the switch from cornerback to free safety and had his finest year as a Bobcat football player. In a brilliant game against North Texas, he recorded eleven tackles. Against Rice University, he recorded three interceptions helping to seal a 31-6 victory, tying the Bobcat football record for most interceptions in one game. He also broke the school record for most interceptions in a single season with nine total picks. He was named Gulf Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Rice and earned Gulf Star Conference Athlete of the Week for his accomplishments against S.F.A. Lundin was elected to the Gulf Star All-Conference Team and was also named team captain. He ended his career as a Bobcat by being named Mr. Bobcat at the year-end football banquet. Today, Lundin continues to share the record for most interceptions in a game and continues to hold the record for the most interceptions in a season.
In addition to his athletic pursuits, Lundin was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Order and was a “Pi Guy” to the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.  Lundin earned a bachelor of arts in Business Administration in 1987. After graduation, Lundin started AJL Advertising Specialties, Inc. in 1989 where he continues to be owner and president.
Lundin has been active in Texas State Athletics and the “T” Association along with being a member of the Bobcat Club since the early 1990’s. He served on the Bobcat Club Board of Directors from 1995-2005 and on the Executive Board of Directors from 1998-2004. He was an original member of the Touchdown Team and is a proud supporter of all Texas State athletics.
