Garnet M. Blackman spent 4 years at Texas State from 1925-1929. He participated in football, basketball, and baseball all four years of attendance. Blackman went on to coach basketball for 14 years and was an advocate for sponsorships and rewriting the rules for girls’ basketball in 1949.
