Mike Ferris brings academic, as well as athletic excellence to Texas State, with his numerous associations to the university.  

  Ferris played football for the Bobcats 1977-79 and was named first-team Academic All-American honors in 1978 and ‘79 and was second team All-LSC Offensive Guard in 1979.  
 

Ferris served as treasurer of FCA and senator in the ASG. He was president of his math honor Society, Kappa Mu Epsilon, and received the L.B.J. Outstanding Senior Award. Ferris graduated in 1980 with the highest honors. 

In 1987 Ferris received his master’s in computer science from Texas State and had an extensive career as a systems programmer for the University.

Ferris is actively involved in several local organizations and has been on the “T” Association Board of Directors since 1987 and served as a president in 1989-90.
