SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization and United Soccer Coaches released its Week Three Top 25 Coaches Poll on Tuesday, with the Bobcats climbing to No. 17 nationally.
Following the program's first-ever national ranking announced a week ago at No. 21, Texas State continued to execute over the course of the week and outscored its opponents 7-0 in back-to-back shutouts over in-state foes East Texas A&M and Texas Southern at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.
Texas State remains the top-ranked program in the Pacific Region and the Pac-12 Conference's lone representative, while also holding the highest ranking among teams in the state of Texas.
The Bobcats hunt to tie its longest unbeaten streak in program history to begin a campaign on Thursday night hosting Rice, since the 2022 team started 6-0-1. The match starts at 7:30 p.m., admission is free and the game will be streamed live on the Pac-12 Conference YouTube channel.
About the Poll
The IWSOC DI Top 25 Coaches Poll, conducted in partnership with United Soccer Coaches, is voted on exclusively by Division I women's soccer coaches.The rankings are released each Tuesday throughout the regular season, beginning with the preseason edition and continuing through the final poll following the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship. The poll serves as an indicator of week-to-week team status and carries no bearing on at-large selections for the NCAA Tournament.
