SAN MARCOS, Texas— Texas State track and field closed out day one of the Charles Austin Classic Friday night with strong performances in the hammer throw, long jump and javelin at the Bobcat Track & Field Complex.

The Bobcats were highlighted by three event titles, as Manfred Mannamaa, Isaiah Kayembe and Charlize Goody each secured first-place finishes to lead Texas State on the opening day.

In the men's hammer throw, Mannamaa claimed gold with a mark of 63.68m, moving into the top spot in the Sun Belt Conference. 

On the men's long jump runway, Kayembe delivered a personal-best performance of 7.39m to secure the event title and move to No. 2 in the Sun Belt. 

The Bobcats dominated the women's javelin, claiming the top two spots. Goody secured the event title with a throw of 48.41m, moving to No. 1 in the Sun Belt, while McKenah Sears followed with a second-place finish at 43.99m, holding the No. 2 spot in the conference.

On the men's side of the javelin, Chase Leatherwood recorded a third-place finish with a mark of 49.14m.

The Bobcats will continue competition at the Charles Austin Classic on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the women's discus.
