SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State (14-14, 7-8 Sun Belt) hosts South Alabama (19-9, 11-4 Sun Belt), the co-leaders of the Sun Belt Conference, on Saturday. Tipoff is slated for 4:30 p.m. inside Strahan Arena.

About Texas State
The final three games of the regular season will see the Bobcats host three of the top four teams currently in the conference standings. TXST is currently tied for seventh in the league with Georgia State, Old Dominion and Louisiana.
Tylan Pope is creeping closer to two historic marks. He is 44 points shy of reaching 1,000 in his collegiate career and needs 49 more to become the 22nd player in program history to record a 500-point season. The senior forward leads the team at 16.1 points per game and is shooting a Sun Belt best 53.2% from the field. Pope is also contributing 6.4 rebounds per game and 42 blocks.
Also with double-digit scoring averages are Mark Drone (11.7), Kaden Gumbs (12.0) and Tyrel Morgan (13.9). Gumbs has dished out 106 assists and leads the team with 37 steals. Morgan enters grabbing 6.9 rpg, recording 30 steals and blocking 20 shots.
Both Coleten Benson and Dylan Dawson have made over 30 three-pointers with 39 and 32, respectively.
About South Alabama
The Jaguars have won three straight games and five consecutive Sun Belt contests. Wednesday saw them go on the road and beat Arkansas State 60-56. The victory put them in a tie for first in the conference standings alongside James Madison. When playing on the road, South Alabama is 7-5 this season with a 5-2 mark against Sun Belt opponents.
Myles Corey leads the team at 14.3 ppg and 117 assists. He is second with 39 made three-pointers and his 42 steals are the third most on the squad. Barry Dunning Jr. enters putting up 13.6 ppg and grabbing a team-high 7.0 rpg. The top long-distance threat is Judah Brown, who has made 65 shots from beyond the arc and has made 39.2% of his three-point shots.
Series History
Texas State leads the all-time series 11-7. However, the Jaguars have won the last two meetings and three of the last four. The only win in that time for the Bobcats was a 74-66 contest in San Marcos on Feb. 1, 2024.
When hosting South Alabama, TXST is 7-1 all-time. The lone loss came on Feb. 22, 2023 by a score of 76-67.
