House Joins Men’s Basketball for 2026-27 Season

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State men's basketball head coach Terrence Johnson announced the signing of Quel'Ron House to the program for the 2026-27 season on Thursday.

"We are extremely excited to have Quel'Ron join our program. He's a talented two-way player who we expect to impact winning on both ends of the floor. His skill, feel and competitive drive makes him an ideal fit for the new Pac-12 Conference and our program," said Johnson.

House arrives in San Marcos after playing this past season at Southern Illinois. He led the Salukis offensively at 15.2 points per game while shooting 46.6% from the field and 75.0% at the free throw line.

The 6-foot guard also paced the team with 98 assists and 50 steals. He grabbed 103 rebounds to average 3.4 per contest. In 25 games, the Louisville, Kentucky native scored at least 10 points with eight games of 20 or more points. He netted a season-high 28 points on 12-of-22 shooting in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament versus Drake on Mar. 5.

House played his freshman year at Jacksonville State. That year saw him put up 8.4 ppg, 3.0 apg and 2.7 rpg. He was second on the team with 87 assists and 33 steals.

A graduate of Seneca High School in Louisville, Ky., House led the program to its first KHSAA regional championship appearance since 1968 that saw him record a 31-point triple-double in the victory. The guard finished his senior year among the top 10 in the state of Kentucky in points per game (27.9) while shooting 50.5% from the field and 43.6% on three-pointers.

His senior year saw House earn first team all-state honors and be selected as a Kentucky Mr. Basketball finalist. He competed in the Kentucky-Ohio All-Star game and scored a game-high 20 points on his way to being named the MVP of the contest.
