Men’s Basketball Signs Sanders

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State men's basketball head coach Terrence Johnson announced the signing of Josiah "King" Sanders to the program for the 2026-27 season on Thursday.

"King is a versatile player who gives us a true above-the-rim threat. His length, athleticism and ability to make plays in the open court at his size makes him a special talent. We're looking forward to developing and maximizing his potential," said Johnson.

Sanders graduated from Tennessee Collegiate Academy in Millington, Tennessee. He was rated a four-star prospect by ESPN and the sixth best player in The Volunteer State by 247Sports.com.

The 6-foot, 8-inch forward previously attended Berean Baptist Academy in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He helped lead the Bulldogs to a 23-12 record while averaging 12.5 points per game his junior season. As a sophomore, the Charlotte, North Carolina native put up 11.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals a contest.
