SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State men's basketball head coach Terrence Johnson announced the signing of Paul Djobet to the program for the 2026-27 season on Thursday.
"Paul brings a wealth of experience to our team. His size, versatility and natural scoring ability make him a strong addition to this class," said Johnson. "He has great poise and timing, which allows him to rebound effectively and finish at the rim. Paul is an efficient scorer who gives us a true three-level threat. We are excited to welcome him to our program."
Djobet transfers to the Bobcats after playing this past season at Omaha where he appeared in 20 games and made 18 starts. He led the Mavericks with 17.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while knocking down 51.2% of his shots from the field and going 34-for-82 (41.5%) on three-pointers.
Eight times the 6-foot, 7-inch guard surpassed 20 points in a contest. His best performance was a 38-point effort against North Dakota State on Feb. 7, which saw him make 14-of-22 field goal attempts and knock down 6-of-10 long distance shots. Djobet also recorded four double-doubles during the campaign with three straight coming at the end of January.
The Lille, France native played his first two collegiate seasons at Miami (FL). He appeared in 44 games and made four starts for the Hurricanes while putting up 4.4 ppg and 2.2 rpg.
Djobet graduated from West Oaks Academy in Orlando, Florida where he was rated a four-star prospect and the 14th best player in Florida in his class by ESPN. He averaged 18.0 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists a contest as a senior on his way to earning SIAA Player of the Yer and first team all-state honors.
His sophomore and junior years were spent at Solid Rock Academy in Georgia. Both seasons he helped lead the program to the GISA state championship and claim GISA Player of the Year accolades.
