"We had several tremendous performances from our athletes and potentially having two men going to NCAA Indoor Championships is a huge plus," said Texas State Director of Track & Field/Cross Country John Fraizer.
The Texas State women's team finished third overall in the meet with 77 points. They finished only nine and a half points behind conference champion Arkansas State. The Bobcats men's team placed fourth with 104 total points, which was 40.5 behind the leader. Â

Yancy earned the title of men's top scorer at the indoor conference championships. He earned the Bobcat men's team 20.50 points after placing first in the men's 200 with a time of 20.93, second in the men's 60 meters with a time of 6.78 and being part of the men's 4x400 relay team that placed first with a mark of 3:10.70. Â

To cap off his spectacular indoor campaign in the men's 60-meter hurdles, Harrold ran his fastest time of the season, clocking a 7.62. This mark broke the school record and the Sun Belt Conference and meet record. Â

In the women's shot put, Duron put her name in the first-overall in theTexas State record book, when she recorded a mark of 16.76m/55-0 on her final throw of the event and earned the gold medal. Â

After winning the men's long jump yesterday, Preddie came back for another gold medal on day two of the meet. He recorded a new PR in the men's triple jump with a mark of 15.54m/51, which places him sixth all time in the school record books. Â

In the men's 400 meters, the Bobcats won the gold and silver medal in the event.

Shawn Collins finished behind him in second and set a new PR of 47.67. Â

Both West and Collins along with Yancy and Veiseh, were a part of the men's 4x400 team that placed first and set a new meet record with a time of 3:10.70. This mark was also the sixth-best time in school history. Â

Taejha Badal brought home a silver medal in the women's 200 meters, after recording a new PR of 23.63 and put herself 6th in the record books for the event. Badal also raced in the finals of the 60 meters, where she recorded a 7.49. Â

Freshman Easton Hammond recorded five PRs in his heptathlon performance and placed third overall in the event. Hammond set a PR in the high jump (2.03m/6-8), shot put (12.7m/41-8.5), pole vault (4.32m/14-2) and the 1000 meters (2:43.44). He totaled 5196 total points, which set his PR and was the seventh-best point total in Texas State history. Â

Aiden Hayes recorded a 2.07m/6-9.5 mark in the men's high jump, which was enough to earn him the bronze medal on day two of the meet. Â

Jake Smith shined again for the distance squad on day two of the meet. In the men's 3000 meters, Smith placed fourth and recorded the second-fastest time in school history after running 8:20.61. Smith joined the record books in both the men's 5000 and 3000 meters during the SBC meet. Â
