NEW ORLEANS – After a standout performance in goal last week,
Katelyn Chrisman was named the Sun Belt Conference's Defensive Player of the Week. It is the second time that the senior has earned the honor in her career and the first time a Texas State player has received one of the weekly honors this year.
Chrisman recorded two shutouts last week against App State and South Alabama while making two saves in both contests. Last Thursday's shutout of the Jaguars was just the second ever against them and first time doing so at home. She is the first Bobcat goalkeeper to record back-to-back shutouts in conference play since the team's first two league matches of last season.
With the two shutouts, Chrisman now has six in her career to place her in a tie for eighth in team history. The Belton, Texas native also moved into a tie for 10th on the program's career list with 111 saves.
Next up for Chrisman and the Bobcats is the regular season finale on Thursday. Kickoff for Thursday's contest at the Bobcat Soccer Complex is set for 6 p.m.
