SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team (3-0-0) returns to the Bobcat Soccer Complex after picking up a road win on Thursday. The Bobcats host Houston Baptist (0-1-1) with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sunday.
The match will be streamed on ESPN+ with
Brant Freeman and Katie Goodwin on the call. Fans can also catch the match on KTSW 89.9 FM and live stats will be available.

TXST is off to its second best start in the program history. A win on Sunday would match the program record that was set in 2019.
Five different players have found the back of the net this season led by two goals from
Bailey Peschel. Credited with an assist on the year are
Madi Goss,
Addison Peters,
Avery Thies and
Olivia Wright, who has taken a team leading 11 shots.
Starts between the posts have been split between
Beth Agee and
Katelyn Chrisman. Agee recorded two saves in her lone appearance of the season while Chrisman made her first stop of the year Thursday night.
About Houston Baptist
The Huskies opened the season with a scoreless draw at UTSA and fell Friday night at North Texas by a 4-1 score. HBU was picked to finish seventh in the Southland Conference preseason poll. Sunday will be the third of six straight road matches for the Huskies to start the season.
Netting the long goal of the season has been Katie Marker. Credited with an assist on the tally was Ryan Ford, who paces the squad with three shot attempts.
Chloe Bagshaw has played all 180 minutes between the posts. She sports a 2.00 GAA with 14 saves and a .778 save percentage.
All-Time Series
Texas State leads the all-time series 5-0-2. In San Marcos, the Bobcats are 4-0-0 with the last meeting taking place Sept. 1, 2019. That day saw Kaylee Davis knock home two penalty kicks in the 2-1 overtime victory. Last time the teams met on the pitch was in Houston on Sept. 6, 2010 and ended in a 1-1 draw. Only once has a shutout been recorded in the series with that being a 2-0 victory for TXST at home on Sept. 22, 2009.
