Wynn, Yancy Post Top-Three Marks on Final Day of Michael Johnson Invitational

Wynn and Yancy ran the third fastest times in school history in the 100 meter hurdles and 400 meter dash, respectively

WACO, Texas – Texas State's Sedrickia Wynn and Dominick Yancy each posted top-three school marks while Will Blaser cleared 18 meters in the shot put for a Sun Belt season-best as the Bobcats wrapped up the Michael Johnson Invitational on Saturday at the Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium.

In total, Texas State totaled seven PRs, six top-five finishes and the Sun Belt season-best by Blaser on the final day of the meet.

Wynn registered her personal-best in the 100-meter hurdles, running 13.43 in a wind-legal time for the third-fastest in school history and quickest by a Bobcat in seven years. The time was also the second fastest by a Sun Belt athlete this season.

In the 400 meter dash, Yancy ran 46.07 to finish fifth but also notch the third-fastest time in program history. The junior, whose time is now the second fastest in the Sun Belt this year, already owns the conference best for the season and second-fastest time in school history.

Blaser came out with a season-best throw in his first attempt in the shot put, throwing 18.08 meters/59-4 to become the first Sun Belt athlete this year to break the 18-meter mark. The transfer from Northern Iowa fell one centimeter shy of matching his personal best.

Isaac Sadzewicz set his personal-best in the pole vault for the second week in a row as the senior cleared 5.26 meters/17-3 to finish fourth in the event. It was one centimeter (quarter of an inch) higher than his PR from last weekend at the Charles Austin Classic.

Alyssa Wilson had the highest placing of any Bobcat on the day as the graduate student finished second in the shot put with a throw of 16.58 meters/54-0.75. It was the ninth best throw in school history and her second best this season.

Other PRs by the Bobcats included Aubrey Schmidt in the 3000 meter steeplechase (12:02.34), Megan Ombres in the 800 meter (2:24.16), Victoria Wright in the women's 100 meter (12.04), Dre'Quan Crawford in the men's 100 meter (10.59), and Bervensky Pierre also in the men's 100 meter (10.41). Pierre's time was the seventh fastest in the Sun Belt this outdoor season.

Daniel Harrold also picked up a top-10 school mark in the 110 meter hurdle as he ran a 13.97 for 10th best.

Texas State will complete its regular season schedule next Saturday with the Alumni Muster meet at Texas A&M.
