SAN MARCOS, Texas— Texas State junior hammer thrower Elisabet Runarsdottir has been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Second Team, earning the prestigious honor for the second time in her career.

A psychology major with a 3.80 GPA, Runarsdottir previously earned CSC Academic All-America recognition during the 2023-24 season after capturing her first NCAA hammer throw national championship. 

She held a 3.69 GPA at the time and has since improved her academic standing while continuing to excel on the national stage.

Runarsdottir is coming off one of the most decorated seasons in Texas State track and field history. 

The two-time NCAA hammer throw national champion claimed titles in the weight throw at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships, the hammer throw at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships and the NCAA Outdoor Championships. 

She also earned USTFCCCA First Team All-America honors and helped lead the Bobcats to Sun Belt Conference indoor and outdoor team championships.

Runarsdottir becomes one of the few student-athletes in program history to earn multiple CSC Academic All-America honors, recognizing excellence both in competition and in the classroom.

In addition to Runarsdottir's Academic All-America selection, seven Bobcats earned CSC Academic All-District honors:
