SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team preps to hit the road for the final two regular season games of the 2014 year this weekend. First, the Bobcats will travel to Statesboro, Ga. to take on Sun Belt Conference newcomer Georgia Southern Friday evening before turning around to play Georgia State on Sunday.

Tori Hale recorded her 17th career assist which tied the program career record that was previously set by Britney Curry, the older sister of current forward
Lynsey Curry. She then added her 18th against UL Monroe to hold sole possession of the all-time record.

Entering the weekend, the Bobcats are one of two teams to have secured their spot in the upcoming conference tournament. The other school is South Alabama who is currently leading the standings with 19 points. Texas State is in second with 15.

Kat Conner is seeking her 167th career victory against Georgia Southern on Friday evening. She has been the sole coach for the Texas State Soccer program. Against Appalachian State, Conner tallied her 100th conference victory.

A Look At The Competition: Georgia SouthernThe Eagles enter the weekend with a 9-5-1 overall record and 4-3-0 mark in Sun Belt Conference play.

At home, Georgia Southern has posted an undefeated mark of 4-0-1 for the season.

Melinda Lukas leads the Eagles in goals this season with six. Nora El-Shami, Stephanie Gratto, and Jennifer Wittick all have contributed four goals for Georgia Southern. Four other members of the team have score one goal this year.

Katie Merson is the goalkeeper for Georgia Southern as she has logged every single minute of action for the Eagles. Merson has allowed 20 goals while posting 75 saves.

Friday's match marks the first all-time meeting between the Eagles and the Bobcats.

A Look At The Competition: Georgia StateGeorgia State enters the weekend with a 5-8-4 overall record and 3-3-1 mark in conference play.

Whitney Ravan leads the Panthers offensively as she has scored a team-high seven goals. In addition to her goals, she has recorded an assist for the team, putting her team-high point total to 15.

The Panthers have scored 16 goals as a team while allowing 17. Although Georgia State has scored only 16 goals on the season, it has never lost a contest by more than one goal all year.

Brie Haynes is the primary goalkeeper for Georgia State as she has logged over 1,100 minutes this season. Haynes owns a 0.88 goals against average and .828 save percentage.

In the lone contest between the Bobcats and the Panthers, Texas State won by a score of 1-0 at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.

Kelsie Townsend scored the lone goal for the Bobcats off of the bench. She finished the game with a team-high four shots of which three were on goal.
