Weather Cuts Softball Game Short, Bobcats Fall 4-1 to Baylor

Box Score

Waco, Texas
– The Texas State and Baylor softball teams made it through five innings of play before tornadoes in the area cut the game short. Baylor was up 4-1 when the game was called to give the No. 17 Bears the victory at Getterman Stadium.

Texas State was able to score first as Jenna Emery reached base on a walk in the second inning with two outs. Allyce Rother who has been hitting pretty well for the Bobcats the past four weeks stepped to the plate and doubled to right center with just enough room for Emery to scored and give Texas State a 1-0 edge.

The Bears responded in the bottom of the second as they put up a pair of runs. Baylor also scored in the third and the fifth inning to take a 4-1 lead.

The game was called after the completion of the fifth inning due to tornadoes in the area. Texas State garnered three hits with Jordan Masek leading the way as she went 2-for-2 from the plate. Baylor tallied for hits, and both teams committed one error.

Chandler Hall was handed the loss after five innings in the circle and two strikeouts. Whitney Canion earned the win for Baylor with three strikeouts in three innings pitched.
