LOUISVILLE, Kentucky -- Texas State softball standout Madison Azua earned national recognition on Wednesday as she was named to the 2026 NFCA Division I All-America Team following a dominant season in the circle for the Bobcats that helped lead TXST to a Sun Belt Tournament Championship appearance and an NCAA Regional bid.
 
Azua earned third-team accolades after a stellar 2026 campaign, compiling a 1.95 ERA across 244.2 innings pitched. She owns a career-best 26 wins, a mark that ranks among the nation's leaders, while allowing just 68 earned runs on the season.
 
The left-hander has also struck out 236 batters while issuing only 57 walks and limiting opposing hitters to a .235 batting average. Azua surrendered just 218 hits all season while serving as the ace of the Bobcats' pitching staff.
 
In addition to her All-America recognition, Azua was named the 2026 Sun Belt Pitcher of the Year and earned First-Team All-Sun Belt honors in addition to NFCA All-Region second-team honors.
 
Azua is the seventh Bobcat to earn NFCA All-America honors, and most recent since Jessica Mullins picked up first-team accolades in 2024.
 
The 2026 NFCA Division I All-America teams were revealed during the organization's annual press conference at the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City. Fifty-four student-athletes from 30 institutions were selected across the three All-America teams, with selections voted on by the NFCA's Division I All-America Committee.
 
The NFCA All-America teams are voted on by elected head coaches representing each of the Association's 10 regions. Student-athletes selected to first, second or third-team All-Region squads were eligible for All-America consideration.
