Game Notes
San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State baseball team will return to Southland Conference action this weekend when Southeastern Louisiana comes to San Marcos for a three-game series beginning on Friday. The first pitch of game one is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Bobcat Ballpark. Saturday's game will begin at 2:00 p.m. before the teams wrap up the series on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
Sunday will also be Scout Day at Bobcat Ballpark. This promotional event is especially for boy scouts and girl scouts of the central Texas area. Scouts will receive admission for a discounted price of $3 per ticket. When entering the ballpark, each scout will receive a Texas State University patch to add to their collection. In addition, all scouts will be able to run the bases after the game.
Following the series with the Lions, baseball action will continue at Bobcat Ballpark on Monday when Texas State will host Texas Tech at 6:30 p.m.
The Bobcats enter the weekend with a 21-11 record and 11-4 mark in the Southland Conference to lead the league. The Lions are 23-11 overall and 9-6 in SLC action, sitting in third place in the conference.
Texas State will send junior Carson Smith (5-1, 1.76 ERA) to the mound on Friday for his eighth start of the season. Junior Mitchell Pitts (3-0, 4.96) is scheduled to make the start on Saturday before sophomore Colton Turner (5-1, 4.95) takes the ball on Sunday.
For Southeastern Louisiana, senior Brandon Efferson (5-2, 4.27) will start the series on Friday, and senior Tyler Watkins (6-0, 1.80) will start on Saturday. The Lions have yet to determine a starter for Sunday's game.
Texas Tech, which will play a three-game series this weekend against Texas before coming to San Marcos, is 22-13 this season heading into the weekend. Starters for the Texas Tech game have yet to be determined.
Tickets for each game are available through the Texas State Athletics Ticket Office and be purchased in advance or at the gate. Gates open an hour and a half prior to each game.

Against SLU
The Bobcats and Southeastern Louisiana have played an even series of late with each team winning five of the last 10 games. The Bobcats swept the Lions the last time they came to San Marcos.
Against TTU
The Bobcats have a four-game winning streak against Texas Tech. Texas State has scored at least 10 run in each of those wins.
Top Offenses
Texas State and Southeastern Louisiana are first and second in the Southland Conference in batting during Southland Conference play. The Bobcats lead the SLC with a .311 batting average and the Lions are second at .279.
Stolen Bases
With 39 stolen bases during Southland Conference play, the Bobcats have 20 more steals than any other team in the SLC.
RBI Leaders
Kyle Kubitza and Casey Kalenkosky are first and second in the Southland Conference in RBIs during Southland Conference action. Kubitza leads the league with 20 and Kalenkosky is one behind with 19.
Blowouts
Texas State has been on the right end of blowouts this season, holding a 10-1 record this season in games decided by five runs or more.
