2011: Named an ABCA All-America Third Team selection after receiving ABCA All-South Central Region First Team honors … earned All-Southland Conference First Team accolades at first base … named the MVP of the Southland Conference Tournament … ranked sixth in the nation and set a Texas State single-season record in home runs with 21 … led the team with 17 doubles and 69 RBIs while also posting in .327 batting average, 59 runs scored and six stolen bases … had a team-best 23 games with two-or-more RBIs … surpassed the single-season Texas State home run record with a two-run homer against Southeastern Louisiana (5/26) for his 19th of the season, surpassing the previous record of 18 held by Luke Cannon and Paul Goldschmidt ... named the Southland Conference Tournament MVP after hitting .458 with three homers, nine RBIs and five runs scored over six games ... hit two home runs in two games, including a game against Houston (3/12) in which he was 3-for-6 with seven RBIs and a walk-off homer to win the game ... also hit two homers against Sam Houston State (3/20) and finished with four RBIs ... went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs against Lamar (3/27) ... went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, three runs scored and a homer against Nicholls (5/15) … had 19 RBIs in a nine-game stretch to begin March … drafted in the 13th round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Washington Nationals.

 

Previous School: Played for two seasons at Cisco Junior College under head coach David White, earning most valuable player honors for the conference in addition to all-American recognition.

 

High School: Attended John Marshall High School in San Antonio and played for head coach Bruce Holmes.
