Game Notes
San Marcos, Texas – Texas State will welcome Missouri to Bobcat Ballpark on Wednesday afternoon for a midweek game beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Bobcats and Tigers will meet for the second time ever and the first time in San Marcos as Texas State takes on its fourth Big 12 opponent of the season.
Texas State (17-6) enters Wednesday's game with winners of seven of its last 10 games, including taking two-of-three games against Lamar last weekend. Missouri (12-12) was originally scheduled to play Illinois on Tuesday before making the trip to San Marcos before the game was canceled. The Tigers have dropped three of their last five games heading into Wednesday.
The Bobcats will send junior, right-handed pitcher Mitchell Pitts to the mound for his seventh start of the season. Pitts is 3-0 with a 5.82 ERA through his first six starts. For the Tigers, sophomore right-hander Eric Anderson will make his second start of the season. Anderson has a 0-0 record and 23.62 ERA in 2 2/3 innings this season.
Also, for Texas State students, football head coach Dennis Franchione will be doing a meet-and-greet before the start of the baseball game, sponsored by the Associated Student Government. Coach Fran, his staff and football players will be at the event which will take place by first base at the baseball field from 5:30 until 7:30. Free pizza will be provided to those in attendance.

Hitting Streak
Junior Tyler Sibley is currently riding a 26-game hitting streak dating back to last season. Sibley has hit safely in all 21 games he has played in this season. His streak is the longest in Texas State's history, bettering former Bobcat Jason Martinson's record of 23 games in 2010.
SLC Pitcher of the Week Again
Junior Carson Smith earned his second Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week nod during the sixth week of the season after he defeated Lamar in his lone start of the week. He limited Lamar to just four hits and zero earned runs over seven innings. The right hander held the Cardinals to a .167 batting average for the game and struck out eight as he improved to 3-1 for the season.
Run Differential
The Bobcats have out-scored opponents by a combined total of 176-106 this season.
Home Runs
Texas State leads the Southland Conference in home runs with 22. The Bobcats have only allowed 10 home runs by opponents this season.
Stolen Bases
The Bobcats have stolen 44 bases in 54 attempts this season, while opponents have combined to steal just 12 bases on 19 attempts.
National Leaders
Junior Casey Kalenkosky's nine home runs and 33 RBIs not only lead the Southland Conference, but they rank him among the national leaders. In the latest NCAA release, Kalenkosky ranked second in home runs and fourth in RBIs. Junior Kyle Kubitza is also among the nation's leaders with 28 bases on balls. He ranked seventh in the nation in the latest release.
