COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Despite jumping out to an early lead, Texas State (37-25) would fall Saturday nigh to Texas A&M (41-14) by a score of 17-2 at Blue Bell Park in the College Station Regional.

Weston Moss (5-2) earned the win after throwing 7.1 innings with 10 strikeouts and giving up just two runs on five hits.
Jesus Tovar (9-4) allowed four runs on nine hits with four punchouts over 4.1 innings to take the loss.

Cameron O'Banan struck out two in his inning of work.
Alex Yearwood had one strikeout as he pitched a scoreless frame.

At the plate, TXST scattered seven hits among seven batters.
Jackson Cotton and
Manny Salas had the two biggest hits of the night for the team with a home run apiece. Also recording an extra-base hit was
Coy DeFury with a double.

It would be the Bobcats that struck first with a solo homer from Salas in the first. Cotton led off the second inning with another round tripper to double the advantage. The long ball was also the 115th of the season for the team to tie the Sun Belt Conference record that was set by New Mexico State back in 2004.

The Aggies would get on the board when Gavin Grahovac hit a solo shot with two outs in the third to cut TXST's advantage in half. A two-run home run from Jake Duer in the next frame put the hosts in front. Those would be the first of 17 unanswered runs over the next six innings.

Next up for the Bobcats will be rematch against USC in an elimination game on Sunday. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. with the winner advancing to take on Texas A&M later that night at 8 p.m.
