SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Bobcats remain nationally ranked for the fifth straight week, coming in at No. 24 in the Week Six Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization and United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Coaches Poll.

The program entered the national rankings for the first time in program history in the week two coaches poll at No. 21, following historic wins over Texas A&M and then-No. 6 Baylor. Back-to-back shutouts over East Texas A&M and Texas Southern led to week three's No. 17 ranking, before Texas State topped Rice, 4-3, by way of a final minute game-winner from Victoria Meza after four second half goals led the team to tie its best start in program history (6-0-1). The victory over the Owls resulted in the lift to No. 15 in the week three coaches poll.

Following its first loss of the season, a 3-2 back-and-forth battle at Louisiana, the Bobcats bounced back with a 3-1 road victory at Louisiana Tech, closing out a six-day trip in the Pelican State and securing a No. 18 national ranking.

Most recently, the Bobcats returned home to take on Santa Clara in the programs' first-ever meeting, where a hard-fought battle resulted in a scoreless draw to lead Texas State to No. 24 and its fifth straight week in the national rankings in the week five poll.

The Bobcats open conference play in a marquee inaugural Pac-12 match when it travels to Logan, Utah to square with No. 18 Utah State on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 8:30 p.m. (CT). The two squads are the only representatives of the Pac-12 Conference inside the national rankings.

About the Poll
The IWSOC DI Top 25 Coaches Poll, conducted in partnership with United Soccer Coaches, is voted on exclusively by Division I women's soccer coaches.The rankings are released each Tuesday throughout the regular season, beginning with the preseason edition and continuing through the final poll following the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship. The poll serves as an indicator of week-to-week team status and carries no bearing on at-large selections for the NCAA Tournament.
