SAN MARCOS, Texas - No. 18 Texas State (7-1-1) closes out its non-conference slate Sunday night when the Bobcats host Santa Clara (4-2-3) in the first meeting between the programs at Bobcat Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS

• Following a 1-1 week in the Pelican State at Louisiana and Louisiana Tech, the Bobcats received the No. 18 ranking in the Week Five IWSOC\USC Coaches' Poll, in a tie with Utah State. The new number marks the fourth straight week the Bobcats have been inside the national top 25.
• The Bobcats have no shortage of players ranking among the best in the Pac-12 in multiple categories.

• Victoria Meza is second in the country in game-winning goals (4)
• Victoria Meza in total goals (8) and is 5th nationally, alongside total points (20) and is 4th nationally.
• Victoria Meza in shots-per-game (4.11), and points-per-game (2.22)
• Tied for the conference and national lead in penalty kicks is Nina Norshie (1-1).
• A Bobcat team that just set a program record in assists a year ago (45) continued the trend early in 2026, with a Pac-12-best 28 total and seven versus UTRGV alone. (11th nationally).
• Assists are one of three categories the Bobcats lead the conference in, with the other two being total goals (28, 8th nationally) total points (84, 8th nationally), and goal differential (15, 25th nationally).

SCOUTING THE BRONCOS

• Santa Clara (4-2-3) enters the match with the Bobcats following a 1-0 victory down I-35 versus the Roadrunners in its first of two in the Lone Star State. The Broncos head back to the west coast but stay on the road at the University of San Diego following the match with the Bobcats.
• A historically great Broncos women's soccer program is led by second winningest Division I WSOC head coach in Jerry Smith, who is in his milestone 40th season at Santa Clara. A career record of 573-191-83 (.726), the 2001 NCAA Coach of the Year and nine-time WCC Coach of the Year is highlighted by two National Championships (2001, 2020), and being one of just three coaches in NCAA Division I history with more than 500 career wins.
• Smith's 40th season has seen his Broncos open the year on a five-game unbeaten streak, though three of the five ended in 1-1 draws versus Cal, Oregon, and Pitt at home, before dropping its first match of the campaign to UCLA, and again to then-No. 1 Stanford. Santa Clara responded by stringing together two victories, first versus Pac-12 member Fresno State and a gritty win at UTSA.
