NEW ORLEANS – Five Texas State baseball players were recognized by the Sun Belt Conference for postseason honors, as announced by the league office on Monday. The trio of
Rashawn Galloway,
Manny Salas and
Jaquae Stewart were All-Sun Belt Second Team honorees and both
Jackson Cotton and
Clayton Namken were selected to the conference's All-Freshman Team.
Â
Galloway led the Bobcats with a .329 batting average, 78 hits, 51 runs and 25 doubles. His double total is a Bobcat single season record and ranks third nationally. The senior has also driven in 45 runs and hit 12 home runs. He is one of a record seven TXST players to hit double-digit home runs this season.
Â
The Boerne, Texas native recorded the third longest hitting streak in team history from Feb. 24 to Apr. 3 that spanned 23 games. During that time, he was named the Sun Belt's Player of the Week on Mar. 24 after helping Texas State complete a sweep of then 25th-ranked Louisiana.
Â

The second to last game of the regular season saw him blast three home runs against Marshall. He was the second Bobcat to do so this season. Salas' second long ball that night was the 100th of the season for Texas State.
Â
Stewart hit a team-high 16 home runs, which is tied for the seventh most in a season in team history. Of his 16 longs balls, four of them were grand slams to set a new program mark in a season. Â
Twice Stewart recorded multi-home run games this year with the first being in the series opener at Georgia State with two. He would follow with a three-homer, eight-RBI performance in the series finale against Troy.
