Texas State Heads to Mobile for Sun Belt Outdoor Championships

SAN MARCOS, Texas— Texas State track & field is set to compete at the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships from May 14-16 in Mobile, Alabama, hosted by the University of South Alabama at the Jaguar Track & Field Complex.

The three-day championship meet begins Thursday at 10:30 a.m. CT with the decathlon, followed by the heptathlon at 11 a.m. CT. The complete championship schedule can be found on the Sun Belt Conference Track & Field Championship Central page.

Texas State head coach John Frazier enters the weekend following one of the most dominant stretches in conference history. Frazier has earned four consecutive Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year honors while leading the Bobcats to four straight conference team championships across indoor and outdoor competition.

Texas State's men's squad will feature 31 athletes: Albert Archundia, Henry Buckles, Adam Carter, Eyan Calico, Tshephang Dankuru, Arveyon Davis, Jack Deelman, Drew Donley, Ivan Guzman, Omar Guzman, Easton Hammond, Aiden Hayes, Damacio Hooks, Mihajlo Katanic, Isaiah Kayembe, Ja'Shaun Lloyd, Ty'Shaun Lloyd, Manfred Mannamaa, Ethan Moffett, Marius Numrich, Caden Ohara, Elias Palmer, Philip Reed, David Richards, Aiden Sheffield, Christian Soungie, Danie Strooh, Connor Skopik, Joshua Taylor, Giovonni Walker and Connor Warzecha.

The Bobcats return several key contributors from last season's championship squad, blending veteran leadership with newcomers expected to make an immediate impact.

Senior high jumper Aiden Hayes enters the weekend as one of the conference favorites after winning the 2025 Sun Belt outdoor title in the high jump with a meet-record tying clearance of 2.25m (7-4.50). The mark matched the Sun Belt Conference record and earned Hayes Sun Belt Men's Outdoor Field Performer of the Year honors. Hayes currently ranks No. 3 nationally after clearing 2.24m (7-4.25) earlier this season at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight.

Senior sprinter Drew Donley also returns after capturing the 2025 Sun Belt title in the men's 200 meters and placing third in the 100 meters to help lead Texas State to the team championship. Following his performances, Donley was named the Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year. Donley enters the conference championships with the top 200-meter time in the Sun Belt at 20.57 seconds.

Freshman sprinter Ja'Shaun Lloyd will look to continue the momentum from his standout indoor season. Lloyd captured Sun Belt titles in both the 60 meters and 60-meter hurdles while also earning silver in the 200 meters to claim the championship high-point scorer award at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships. Lloyd currently ranks No. 10 nationally in the 110-meter hurdles after running a wind-aided 13.42 seconds at the Mt. SAC Relays, a mark that also leads the Sun Belt Conference.

Easton Hammond will once again headline the multis group after earning first-team All-Sun Belt honors with a first-place finish in the decathlon at last year's conference championships. Hammond currently ranks No. 5 nationally after recording a school-record 7,823 points at the Bobcat Invitational earlier this season.

On the women's side, Texas State will bring 29 athletes to Mobile: Victoria Amiadamen, Paige Archer, Bostyn Baskin, Breanna Brandes, Sai Brookins, Sophie Daugard, Kerrah Evans, Kathryn Evans, Siena Farrell, Charlize Goody, Kimberly Gloria, Sophia Haberer, Haley Hall, Kennedy Jacquet, Karis Jenkins, Hannah Kemele, Lesedi Khunou, Kendall Lemm, Sydney Magennis, Matilde Poli, Cassandra Rendon, Lara Roberts, Kila Rodas, Elisabet Runarsdottir, McKenah Sears, Alexia Tiscareno Macias, Chinenye Uzoh, Sanaa Washington and Stephanie Williams.

Texas State returns multiple All-Sun Belt performers from last season's championship squad, including Roberts, the 2025 Sun Belt Women's Outdoor Track & Field Elite Award winner, who will compete in the women's hammer throw.

Runarsdottir will also compete in the women's hammer throw after posting a season-best mark of 72.89m earlier this season. The throw currently ranks No. 2 nationally and set an Icelandic national record.

Goody also returns after a standout freshman campaign in 2025 that saw her earn Sun Belt Women's Freshman of the Year honors. She captured the conference title in the javelin and added a runner-up finish in the discus during last year's outdoor championships.

Texas State enters the championships with 52 athletes ranked on the Sun Belt Outdoor Top 10 Performance List, including multiple conference-leading marks across hurdles, jumps, throws and multis events.

The Bobcats swept both the men's and women's team titles at the 2025 Sun Belt Outdoor Championships before repeating the feat at the 2026 Sun Belt Indoor Championships, securing four consecutive conference team championships across indoor and outdoor competition. Texas State will look to complete another sweep this weekend and close out its Sun Belt era with six consecutive conference titles.

The 2026 Sun Belt Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be broadcast on ESPN+, and fans can also follow along with live results throughout the weekend.
