SAN MARCOS, Texas – The start of a nine-game homestand begins this weekend when Texas State (19-9, 6-3 Sun Belt) hosts Georgia Southern (10-19, 3-6 Sun Belt) for a three-game series at Bobcat Ballpark. Both games on Thursday and Friday are scheduled to start at 6 p.m. and Saturday's series finale will see first pitch at 11:30 a.m.

The Bobcats saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end on Tuesday at second-ranked Texas. It was the longest such streak by the team since an 11-game stretch from May 3-27, 2022. In Sun Belt Conference play, TXST has won six straight after sweeping Georgia State on the road last weekend. Last time the team won six or more conference games in-a-row was a nine-game streak to end the 2022 season.

Rashawn Galloway enters the weekend on a 21-game hitting streak that has seen him bat .462 (42-for-91) with 26 RBI, 24 runs, 13 doubles and four home runs. He has recorded 15 multi-hit games in that span as well. For the season, the senior is leading Texas State in average (.398), hits (47), runs (29) and doubles (14) while plating 31 runs.

A team leading nine homers have come off the bats of
Jackson Cotton and
Dawson Park. Park has a team-high 36 RBI while Cotton comes in having driven in 23 runs and swiped nine bases.
Manny Salas is hitting .340 with seven round trippers, seven doubles and 23 RBI.

Ethan Farris has been on a tear since entering the lineup. The redshirt sophomore had gone 15-for-37 (.405) with six home runs, 15 RBI and scored 13 runs. He has also posted a 1.027 SLG% and .463 OBP.

Kyle Froehlich will lead the rotation into the series and has posted a 3-1 record, 5.23 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 32.2 innings. His 18.0 strikeout-to-walk ratio is the best in the nation.
Sam Hall will get the ball on Friday and is coming off a 10-strikeout performance in six shutout innings at Georgia State. Rounding out the rotation is
Jesus Tovar, who is 6-1 with a 2.48 ERA and 34 punch outs in 36.1 innings.

ABOUT GEORGIA SOUTHERN
The Eagles have won four of their last six games, which includes a series win at home over Troy. When playing on the road, they are 2-9 with both victories coming in the last two midweek games at College of Charleston and North Florida.

Five players are hitting .300 or higher led by Bennet Edwards at .400. James McCoy (.339) has hit five homers and leads the team with 27 RBI, 26 runs and nine stolen bases. Also with a .300 or better average is Jack Myers (.300), Max Prozny (.307) and Bryson Trammell (.367). Leading the way with six long balls is Sean White, who has plated 24 runs and come around to score 23 times.

SERIES VS. EAGLES
Texas State holes a slim 10-9 advantage in the all-time series. The Eagles have won the last two series that has seen the Bobcats salvage each weekend by winning the series finale.

When playing in San Marcos, the Bobcats are 4-5 all-time. Last time the teams met at Bobcat Ballpark was in 2022. GS also won the series in 2018. Only time TXST won a home series against the Eagles was the first-ever meeting in 2015.
