SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State's Chase Mora and Rashawn Galloway were selected in the 2026 MLB Draft. Mora went in the ninth round to the Milwaukee Brewers, while Galloway was a 16th round pick to the Houston Astros. This marks the second consecutive season, and fifth in the last six years, a Bobcat has heard his name called.

Mora, who was selected as a pitcher, wrapped up his time at TXST as the Bobcats' all-time career leader in games played (227) and started (222) and was the program record holder with 42 home runs and 184 RBI. As a freshman, he became the first player in NCAA history to hit a homerun in three consecutive plate appearances to open his career.

A graduate of Tomball High School, Mora put together an outstanding prep career both at the plate and on the mound. As a senior, he earned 2022 THSBCA 6A All-State Second Team and TSWA 6A All-State Third Team honors. During his junior season, he was named to the 2021 All-District 15-6A First Team and selected to compete in the Texas Scouts Association All-Star Game. He hit .300 with nine doubles, two home runs, one triple, 18 RBI and 17 runs scored while also posting a perfect 6-0 record with a 2.23 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 28.2 innings on the mound. As a sophomore, he batted .385.

Galloway led the Bobcats with a .318 batting average, 84 hits and 27 doubles in 2026. His doubles total is a Bobcat single season record and ranked third nationally. The senior also drove in 53 runs and hit 12 home runs. Galloway recorded the third longest hitting streak in team history from Feb. 24 to Apr. 3 that spanned 23 games.

Galloway graduated from Boerne High School and was named a 2022 Collegiate Baseball High School First Team All-American A member of the 2022 TSWA 4A All-State Second Team and 2021 TSWA 4A All-State Third Team, he was a four-time all-district selection.

Mora and Galloway helped the Bobcats to their seventh NCAA postseason appearance in 2026.
