SAN MARCOS, Texas – Saturday will see the Texas State men's basketball team (14-11, 7-6 Sun Belt) and the rest of the Sun Belt Conference teams step out of league play for the MAC/SBC Challenge. The Bobcats will host Western Michigan (8-14, 2-8 MAC) in Strahan Arena for a 2 p.m. tip.

About Texas State
Heading into Saturday, Texas State is on a three-game winning streak after beating Georgia Southern on the road on Wednesday. It was the team's second win away from San Marcos this season and just the second time beating the Eagles on the road.
DJ Hall recorded his seventh double-double of the season on Wednesday with 16 points and 10 rebounds. He is now averaging 14.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting a Sun Belt best 54.7% from the field.
The only other Bobcat with a double-digit scoring average is Mark Drone at 13.5 ppg. Despite struggling from the field over the last two games, the senior has dished out 15 assists to just five turnovers.
Kaden Gumbs leads the conference with 51 steals, is handing out a team-high 3.2 assists per game and is contributing 8.7 ppg. Franck Emmou has knocked down a team leading 25 three-pointers while shooting 38.5% from beyond the arc.
About Western Michigan
The Broncos come in having lost two straight games and five of their last six contests. Last time out saw them fall 91-71 at Ohio. On the road, WMU is 1-10 with the lone victory being on Dec. 6 at SIUE.
Justice Williams missed the first 13 games of the season but is putting up 16.2 ppg on 45.9% shooting and has gone 20-for-51 (39.2%) on three-point attempts. Jalen Griffith enters putting up 14.0 ppg with a team-high 37 made treys. He also leads the squad with 81 assists and 22 steals.
Putting up 13.0 ppg and grabbing a team-high 6.8 rpg is Jayden Brewer. Also retrieving six boards a contest is Max Burton.
Series History
Saturday will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs. It marks the fifth time this season playing a first-time opponent with other games being against Bowling Green, Lehigh, Southern and Texas A&M-San Antonio.
