Bobcats Win Texas State Invitational

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – The Texas State women's golf team finished atop the 15-team field at the Bobcats' Texas State Invitational held at the Landa Park Golf Course in New Braunfels Monday and Tuesday. Five Bobcats finished in the top 10 of the 84-player field, led by Briana LeMaire, who earned runner-up honors.

TXST went 24-under across the final 36 holes to finish with a dominating 29-stroke victory over second place Tarleton State. The Bobcats' 12-under second and third rounds were a team low for the tournament, and the lowest rounds of the season since the 269 in round one at the Schooner Fall Classic. The final 54-hole total came to 18-under 846, matching the best performance of the season (Sam Golden Invitational). TXST led the field on par 4s (+12) and par 5s (-24) and had a tournament-best 58 birdies.

Tarleton State finished at +9 and featured individual champion Louise Depadt (-11) and Houston Christian rounded out the top three on the team leaderboard at +11.

LeMaire (75-65-69—209) went 3-under on the final 18 to climb two spots on the final day to finish -7, her best outing of 2025-26. The second-round 65 is the lowest for a Bobcat this season, while her two rounds in the 60s bring her season total to three. LeMaire finished with an eagle and 12 birdies at the event.

Coming in a stroke behind LeMaire was fellow senior Yvonne Chamness (73-69-68—210), who now has three top five finishes in her final campaign as a Bobcat. Chamness led the field at -4 on par 4s, while also finishing second with 15 birdies. Her two rounds in the 60s extended her team-best total to nine this season.

Fia Lindblom (74-72-67—213) used the home course advantage to post her best performance this season and second in the top 10. Her 54-hole, 3-under was highlighted by a third-round 67, which featured six of her 11 birdies.

The freshman duo of Grace Quintanilla (72-70-72—214) and Mana Hersperger (73-72-69—214) tied for sixth at 2-under. Both registered 12 birdies en route to their first career top 10 finishes. Hersperger was competing as an individual at the tournament.

Rounding out the TXST lineup was Ella Salama, who finished +12 and tied for 31st.

The Bobcats are back in action February 16-17 for the Texas Golf Throwdown hosted by Sam Houston at The Woodlands Country Club.
