SAN MARCOS – Texas State women's golf head coach Par Nilsson has announced the addition of Tracy Stanford as the Bobcats' assistant coach ahead of the 2026-27 season.

No stranger to the state of Texas, Stanford most recently served as an assistant at SMU, worked as a golf professional in Austin, Texas, and had a playing career that finished at Texas Tech.

During the 2024-25 season, Stanford helped lead the Mustangs to an NCAA Regional berth after posting eight top five finishes throughout the season. Individually, Mackenzie Lee earned honorable mention All-America honors form GolfWeek and competed at the Augusta National Women's Amateur, while Emily Odwin qualified for the U.S. Women's Open.

Prior to SMU, Stanford spent two seasons as an assistant coach at UNLV, where she helped elevate the Rebels into postseason contention. During her tenure, UNLV qualified for the NCAA Regional in 2023 before junior Toa Yokoyama advanced to NCAA postseason competition as an individual in 2024. As a team, the Rebels earned runner-up honors at the Mountain West Championship that season, with three golfers finishing inside the top 10.

Before returning to the collegiate ranks, Stanford served as an assistant golf professional at The Hills Country Club in Austin where she managed daily golf operations, directed the club's women's tournament league, assisted with instructional clinics and PGA Junior League programming and remained active competitively as a PGA Associate, recording a top-five finish at the 2022 South Texas PGA Tradition Championship.

Stanford enjoyed an accomplished eight-year professional career, highlighted by appearances on the Epson Tour from 2010-16 and again in 2019. She made her professional debut at the 2009 U.S. Women's Open and collected three career top-five finishes while competing throughout North America and Australia. Her best professional season came in 2013 when she posted a career-low 73.54 scoring average across 15 events. She also qualified for the 2016 LPGA Portland Classic.

As a collegiate player, Stanford began her career at Iowa State before transferring to Texas Tech, where she recorded a top-five finish and two additional top-20 performances during her time with the Red Raiders. A native of Midland, Texas, she earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from Texas Tech in 2009.
