Quintanilla Named Sun Belt Freshman of the Year; Four Bobcats Earn All-Conference Honors

NEW ORLEANS — Texas State women's golf continued to shine in the Sun Belt Conference as four Bobcats earned All-Sun Belt honors, highlighted by freshman Grace Quintanilla being named the SBC Freshman of the Year.

Quintanilla and Yvonne Chamness were selected to the All-Sun Belt Conference First Team, while Fia Lindblom and Briana LeMaire earned second and third team recognition, respectively.

The four all-conference selections mark Texas State's highest total since joining the Sun Belt Conference in 2013-14. It is the ninth time in the program's 13 seasons in the conference that Texas State has produced at least three All-Sun Belt selections and the eighth occasion featuring multiple first team honorees.

Quintanilla's Freshman of the Year accolade makes her just the second Bobcat in program history to earn the award, joining former standout Pimnipa Somboonsup, who captured both Freshman of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors in 2017. She finished the regular season ranked No. 107 nationally, the highest ranked individual in the Sun Belt Conference, and tied for fifth at the SBC event to earn all-tournament team honors in her first campaign before going on to qualify for NCAA Regional action.

Quintanilla was in the lineup for 10 of 11 tournaments in her opening regular-season campaign, only missing one due to international duty with the Philippines. Of those 10, she led the Bobcats in seven and finished with a team best 71.2 average. Overall, she posted 6 rounds in the 60s and 17 even or under par with 29 of 30 rounds counting toward the team score. Her best finish was T4 at the Chevron Challenge and her season-low round of 66 was signed for in the event's second 18.

Chamness made her third consecutive appearance at an NCAA Regional after qualifying as an individual in 2025 and as part of TXST's conference championship winning team in 2024. She appeared in all 11 tournaments in 2025-26, earning runner-up honors on two occasions. Overall, she led the lineup in four. Her 10 rounds in the 60s and 17 rounds even or under were a team best, as were her four eagles. The senior posted a 72.9 scoring average and saw 30 of 33 rounds counted.

Second-team selection Lindblom was in the TXST lineup in eight of 11 tournaments in 2025-26, posting her best finish of fifth at the Texas State Invitational. She had 17 of 24 rounds counted toward the team score and registered nine rounds even or under par and three in the 60s with a season low of 66.

Rounding out the honors was LeMaire, who appeared in 10 of 11 tournaments including nine as part of the lineup. Her best finish came at the TXST Invitational where she placed second. LeMaire's round of 65 was the lowest of the season for a Bobcat and one of her nine rounds even or under par and three in the 60s. In all 24 of her 30 rounds counted

In total, the Bobcats leave the Sun Belt with a pair of team championships in 2016 and 2024, as well as two coach of the year, one golfer of they year and two nods apiece at freshman and newcomer of the year. TXST boasts 20 SBC first-team accolades, 13 second team and one third team.
