Quintanilla, Chamness Wrap Up NCAA Regional Action

WACO, Texas – Texas State women's golfers Grace Quintanilla and Yvonne Chamness wrapped up NCAA Regional action on Wednesday afternoon at the Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, Texas. The appearance for the duo marked the third consecutive year the Bobcats made an appearance in the NCAA postseason, including doing so as a team in 2024.

In her first appearance at the event, Quintanilla (73-75-68--216) closed strong carding her sixth round in the 60s this season. The freshman signed for a third-round 68, which included four birdies, two of which were on the final two holes of the event. For the tournament, Quintanilla went 6-over to finish tied for 33rd.

Quintanilla finished the regular season ranked No. 107 nationally, the highest ranked individual in the Sun Belt Conference. She tied for fifth at the SBC event to earn all-tournament team honors in her first campaign.

Chamness (76-74-71--221), who was making her third straight appearance and second as an individual, finished the event tied for 46th at 11-over marking her second highest postseason placement.

A mainstay and leader in the Bobcat lineup for four seasons, Chamness is a two-time all-conference selection and added all-tournament team honors in 2025. She has twice been named a WGCA All-American Scholar and was a CSC Academic All-District selection last season, among other awards.

Following the conclusion of the NCAA Championship May 22-25 the Sun Belt Conference will announce league winners for Golfer of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Coach of the Year, as well as first- and second-team all-conference selections.
