THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Yvonne Chamness turned in her team-leading fourth top 10 finish of the 2025-26 season, tying for eighth place at the Texas Golf Throwdown on Tuesday in The Woodlands.
Chamness (72-72-77--221) went even across the first 36 holes before closing the event +5 in the final round. The senior has now gone even or under par in 13 of 18 rounds this season, and her eight birdies at the tournament paced the team. She has now led the Bobcats in three of six tournaments.
No. 40 Iowa ran away with the tournament, finishing 2-under for the team championship. Nebraska earned runner-up honors at 37-over with Cincinnati rounding out the top three at 39-over. Texas State was +46, three strokes ahead of fifth place Middle Tennessee.
Grace Quintanilla (74-76-76--226) continued her stellar first campaign as a Bobcat collecting her fourth top 25 finish. The freshman finished 10-over, good to tie for 18th.
Rounding out the TXST lineup were

Briana LeMaire (T32, +18) and
Ella Salama (T50, +22).
The Bobcats are back in action February 23-24 staying in Texas for the Chevron Collegiate hosted by Houston at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble.
