SAN MARCOS, Texas – The first road game of the season will see Texas State (3-0) make the trip up I-35 to take on Baylor (3-0) on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from Magnolia Field at Baylor Ballpark.

ABOUT TEXAS STATE
For the fourth consecutive year, Texas State opened the season with a sweep of its first opponent. The Bobcats outscored Niagara 35-3 with two shutouts. It was the third time in program history that TXST scored double-digit runs in the first three games of the season with the first being in 1990 (6 games) and matched in 2023 (3 games).

Manny Salas enters the game batting a team-high .714 (5-for-7) and has scored five runs. He is one of four Texas State players to have hit a home run this season along with
Jackson Cotton (4 RBI),
Bennett Fryman (.500; 3 RBI) and
Chase Mora (4 RBI).

Jaquae Stewart is hitting .545 (6-for-11) with five runs, four RBI and three triples. Also hitting .500 is
Brady Boles, who has gone 5-for-10 at the plate. Leading the team with five RBI is
Dawson Park, who is batting .308.

Scheduled to start on the mound is
Sam Hall. The right-hander went 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA and seven strikeouts over three starts last season.

ABOUT BAYLOR
The Bears also began the season with a sweep at home after taking all three games against New Mexico State. After a run-rule win (15-2; 7 inn.) on Friday, they took Saturday's contest 5-2 and capped it off with a 7-3 victory on Sunday.

An NCAA record-tying performance saw Tyce Armstrong hit three grand slams in the season opener. He enters Tuesday batting .300 with 14 RBI. Travis Sanders is hitting a team-high .600 and JJ Kennett comes in with a .500 average. Also with a homer on the season is Brady Janusek (2 RBI) and John Youens (3 RBI).

Zack Wallace is slated to make the start on the rubber. The sophomore right-hander is a transfer from Rowan-Gloucester College where he helped the Falcons win the NJCAA Division III Championship with an 8-0 record, 2.02 ERA and 72 strikeouts over 49 innings in 15 appearances.

SERIES VS. BEARS
Baylor leads the all-time series 54-27 but Texas State has won three of the last five contests. When playing in Waco, the Bobcats are 19-36 all-time. The last meeting was a 6-2 TXST victory on Apr. 8, 2025. That marked Texas State's eighth win in the last 10 games played against the Bears on the road.
