Last Time Out
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – The Texas State women's golf team finished atop the 15-team field at the Bobcats' Texas State Invitational held at the Landa Park Golf Course in New Braunfels Monday and Tuesday. Five Bobcats finished in the top 10 of the 84-player field, led by
Briana LeMaire, who earned runner-up honors.
TXST went 24-under across the final 36 holes to finish with a dominating 29-stroke victory over second place Tarleton State. The Bobcats' 12-under second and third rounds were a team low for the tournament, and the lowest rounds of the season since the 269 in round one at the Schooner Fall Classic. The final 54-hole total came to 18-under 846, matching the best performance of the season (Sam Golden Invitational). TXST led the field on par 4s (+12) and par 5s (-24) and had a tournament-best 58 birdies.
LeMaire (75-65-69—209) went 3-under on the final 18 to climb two spots on the final day to finish -7, her best outing of 2025-26. The second-round 65 is the lowest for a Bobcat this season, while her two rounds in the 60s bring her season total to three. LeMaire finished with an eagle and 12 birdies at the event.
Sun Belt Standout
Twice this season, Texas State's
Yvonne Chamness has been named the Sun Belt Conference Golfer of the Week. The senior picked up accolades following the season-opening Sam Golden Invitational as well as after the Ron Moore Collegiate. Chamness has led TXST in two of four tournaments this season, finishing tied for second at both of her SBC-recognized outings. She has a team-best 70.6 adjusted scoring average this season and leads the team with seven rounds in the 60s as well as nine rounds even or under par.
International Duty
Freshman
Grace Quintanilla was unavailable for the TXST lineup at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in October while representing the Philippines at the 31st Espirito Santo Trophy/World Amateur Team Championship. She competed alongside 2024 All-Sun Belt selection Junia Gabasa, who helped lead the Bobcats to the 2024 Sun Belt Championship. Quintanilla helped the Philippines to a tie for seventh place, coming in at even par and tied for 31st individually.
