UTSA will open its 2025–26 season Thursday at 1:00 p.m. against St. Mary's before traveling to San Marcos to face the Bobcats on Friday.

The Roadrunners are coming off a strong 2024–25 campaign in which they finished 19-5 overall and advanced to the quarterfinals of the American Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Championship, where they fell 4-0 to top-seeded Tulane.

UTSA returns four players from last season's roster, including sophomore Natalia Castaneda Guerrero, who finished the 2024–25 season with a 7-4 singles record. In last season's meeting, Castaneda Guerrero and Texas State senior Ireland Simme battled into a third set before the match went unfinished.

Friday's match marks the 21st all-time meeting between the two programs. UTSA claimed last season's matchup, 4-1, and holds a 13-7 series advantage.
