SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State men's basketball head coach Terrence Johnson announced the signing of Cameron Simpson to the program for the 2025-26 season on Monday.
"We're excited to welcome Cameron Simpson to the Bobcat Family. He brings a high-level work ethic and competitive edge from his time at UCF and Oak Ridge High School," said Johnson. "Cam is a versatile wing who can stretch the floor, defend multiple positions and fits perfectly with our culture and style of play. We believe his length, athleticism and skill set will make an immediate impact and help elevate our program."
Simpson redshirted this past season with the Knights.
He graduated from Oak Ridge High School in Orlando, Florida. He averaged over a dozen points per game in each of year of his high school career. The 6-foot, 7-inch wing tallied 13.1 points and 2.8 rebounds a contest his senior season at Oak Ridge after posting 12.8 ppg and 3.2 rpg while shooting 49% from the three-point line as a junior.
Simpson spent his sophomore year at Central Florida Christian Academy in Ocoee, Florida. That season saw him record 12.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals a contest. As a freshman, he netted 16.9 ppg while playing at East River High School in Orlando.
