SAN MARCOS, Texas – Monday night at the Foley Sports Complex will see a rematch between No. 4 Texas State (8-3-6, 5-1-4 Sun Belt) and No. 5 James Madison (9-4-5, 5-2-3 Sun Belt) in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Conference Championship at 7 p.m. The teams met this past Wednesday in San Marcos for the regular season finale for both teams.

Wednesday's regular season finale saw a shorthanded Bobcat squad fall 4-2 after playing with just 10 players for the final 78-and-a-half minutes of action. The setback ended a 15-match unbeaten streak at home in conference contests and a nine-match unbeaten run overall. Finding the back of the net for TXST was

Soumare, an All-Sun Belt Second Team selection, has scored a team-high six goals while adding three assists. She had been efficient in her shot taking with 22 of her 28 attempts being on frame (.786). The Ghanan duo of

Helen Alormenu, an all-conference first team pick, have scored five goals apiece.

Victoria Meza was TXST's third All-Sun Belt honoree as she made the first team as a defender. The converted midfielder has recorded three goals and three assists this season with two goals and assists coming in conference play.

Tsutsui leads the team with seven assists and has tacked on two goals. Her assist total is the most by a Bobcat since 2013 and is the second most ever by a freshman in team history. Second on the team with five assists is
Chloe Jones while both
Alexis Montgomery and Alormenu have been credited with four each.

Brooklyn Escobar has started all 17 matches in goal. The freshman heads into the tournament with a 1.15 GAA, 50 saves, a .746 save percentage and four shutouts. Madue Rouanet has appeared in five matches off the bench, totaling 195:14 minutes of action. The graduate transfer has posted a 2.30 GAA with 10 saves and an .667 save percentage.

About James Madison
The Dukes enter the championship on a two-match winning streak that included a 2-0 win over Georgia State and the victory over Texas State. When playing away from home, JMU is 4-2-2 with a 2-1-2 mark against conference opponents. In the three years as a Sun Belt member, the Dukes have reached the finals of the conference tournament each time.

Ginny Lackey leads the team with 11 goals, six assists, 28 points, 40 shots and 19 shots on goal. Audrey Orrack has scored five times while Jeanette Fieldsend and Brooke Potter have found the back of the net thrice. Fieldsend comes in with five assists, as well. Credited with four assists each has been Aleigha Arndt and Ellie Farrell.

Between the posts, Sofia DeCerb has made 12 appearances that includes nine starts. She has allowed 11 goals for a 1.18 GAA, made 36 saves with a .766 save percentage and recorded three shutouts. Lily White comes into the championship having made 11 appearances and nine starts. The sophomore has also surrendered 11 goals for a 1.26 GAA and has a .686 save percentage with 24 stops.

Series History
James Madison leads the all-time series 4-0-1. Monday will be the third meeting between the teams in the Sun Belt Championship. The Dukes won the first meeting 1-0 in 2022 and claimed last year's title match 3-2. The lone positive result for Texas State came on Oct. 13, 2023 in Harrisonburg when the match ended in a scoreless draw.
