The Bobcats are coming off an 80-69 win over I-35 rival UTSA on Wednesday.
Dimp Pernell scored a team-high 19 points and was one of five players in double-figures. TXST is in the midst of a five-game homestand that will also see the team host Abilene Christian, Little Rock and Texas Lutheran.

Pernell paces the team at 11.0 points per game having come off the bench in all four games. He is shooting 48.4% from the field and has made 44.4% of his shots from beyond the arc with a team leading eight made treys. Also with a double-digit scoring mark is
Franck Emmou at 10.5 ppg.

Makai Willis (9.3). Gumbs is ninth in the nation with 23 assists while he has turned the ball over just six times and has a team-high eight steals. Hall paces the squad at 5.5 rebounds per game after recording his first career double-double on Wednesday.

The Tigers are playing their fourth of five consecutive road games to open the season. They have dropped contests to Gonzaga, Samford and Texas A&M. Will also play at Vanderbilt on Thursday before hosting College of Biblical Studies (Nov. 26) and Sam Houston (Dec. 6) in back-to-back contests.

After missing the season opener at Gonzaga, Troy Hupstead enters with a team leading 20.0 ppg that included a 25-point contest the last time out against Samford. He is shooting 62.5% from the field and has knocked down 7-of-9 three-pointers while also grabbing a team-high 8.0 rpg.

Cameron Patterson enters putting up 12.3 ppg on a team leading 64.0% shooting. Duane Posey contributes 10.7 ppg and 6.0 rpg while Zaire Hayes scored 11 points in his season debut versus Samford.

Texas Southern holds a 7-6 advantage in the all-time series. Last season saw Texas State win 72-59 on the road behind an 18-point performance from
Christian Turner and
Tyrel Morgan flirted with a triple-double with 13 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

When hosting the Tigers, the Bobcats are 2-3 all-time. Wednesday will be the first meeting in San Marcos Dec. 15, 1999, that saw Texas Southern win 71-64.
