SAN MARCOS, Texas - Head coach Terrence Johnson announced the non-conference schedule for the 2026-27 campaign ahead of the program's inaugural season in the Pac-12 Conference.

The non-conference slate features 16 games, 10 of which in Strahan Arena, where the Bobcats set a program record 16 wins a season ago.

The Nov. 2 season opener will see the Bobcats host Texas A&M Corpus Christi to tip off the regular season, before Howard Payne visits San Marcos for their 95th meeting in history on Nov. 5.

Texas State will travel to UTRGV for its first road game of the season on Nov. 10 before hosting former Sun Belt Conference foe Southern Miss on Nov. 13. The Bobcats hold a 3-1 all-time home record against the Golden Eagles.

A trip down I-35 to take on the Roadrunners is slated for Nov. 15, followed by two home contests against Incarnate Word (Nov. 18) and McNeese (Nov. 22).

The Bobcats will spend Thanksgiving in Ruston, La., for two matchups, first meeting Alcorn State for the first time in two decades in a neutral site setting (Nov. 25), then the first of two on the slate with Louisiana Tech (Nov. 27).

Texas State will flip the calendar with two at home. On Nov. 29, Nicholls will visit Strahan Arena before the second meeting with Louisiana Tech is to follow (Dec. 2) to open the month of December.

A Saturday headliner at Houston is slotted for Dec. 5, prior to the second meeting with the Vaqueros who will travel to San Marcos on Dec. 8. That will be followed by the previously announced matchup with North Texas in Fort Worth at Dickies Arena, as the second game of the USLBM Coast to Coast Challenge doubleheader. The contest follows the earlier slated game between Texas Tech and Southern California on Dec. 13.

The Dons of San Francisco will make its first-ever trip to San Marcos on Dec. 16, while the final non-conference matchup sees Texas Southern on Dec. 19 at Strahan Arena as the Bobcats look to pull ahead in the all-time series (7-7).

"We are excited about the quality and balance of this non-conference schedule," shared head coach Terrence Johnson. "This schedule is filled with several competitive in-state matchups including a highly anticipated I-35 rivalry game versus UTSA. We scheduled a number of challenging games versus elite level programs that have recently participated in the NCAA/NIT Tournaments. We feel like this tough non-conference schedule will without a doubt prepare us for Pac-12 play in January. Just as important, our fans will have a strong slate of home games to enjoy in San Marcos."
