Bobcats to Face Baylor in the NCAA Tournament First Round

INDIANAPOLIS – On Monday afternoon, the NCAA Division I Soccer Championship selection committee announced that Texas State will be taking on the region's No. 5 seed Baylor in the first round. It marks the Bobcats sixth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the first since 2011.
 
The match will take place in Waco, Texas at Betty Lou Mays Field with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
 
Back on Sept. 7, the teams met in San Marcos. The Bears came away with a 4-1 victory behind three second half goals.
 
Once before the two teams met in the NCAA Tournament. That came in 2011 that ended in a 3-0 win for Baylor in Waco.
 
The winner between the Bobcats and Bears will advance to face the winner between the region's No. 4 seed Wisconsin and Western Michigan.
 
Tickets and broadcast information for Friday's match will be announced when it is made public.
