SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team (7-2-3, 4-0-1 Sun Belt) wraps up the weekend with a home match on Sunday against Louisiana (5-4-3, 2-1-2 Sun Belt). Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. from the Bobcat Soccer Complex.
The match will be streamed on ESPN+ and fans can follow live stats that will also be available. Admission to the match, and all home contests, is free.

The Bobcats head into the weekend on a four-match winning streak, five-match unbeaten streak and a 13-match home unbeaten streak in conference contests. Thursday saw TXST leave Jonesboro, Arkansas with a 1-0 victory with the lone goal being scored by
Mady Soumare in the 48th minute.
Soumare's goal was her fourth of the season to tie for the team lead with
Katrin Agustsdottir, Contance Agyemang and
Helen Alormenu. Also finding the back of the net multiple times has been
Sadie Guzman (2) and
Victoria Meza (3).
A team leading assists have been credited to both
Matsuri Tsutsui and Alormenu with the trio of
Lilah Dupree,
Chloe Jones and Agustsdottir having three apiece. As a team, the Bobcats have 30 assists to mark the third consecutive season with at least 30 dimes. It is tied for the longest streak in program history that also occurred from 2004-06.
Brooklyn Escobar has started all 12 matches in goal. She enters Sunday with a 1.28 GAA having made 39 saves with a .736 save percentage. In conference play, the freshman has posted a 0.40 GAA, made 15 stops for a .882 save percentage and recorded three shutouts.
About Louisiana
The Ragin' Cajuns are undefeated in their last four matches that includes two wins and draws. Thursday saw them defeat Southern Miss 5-0 at home. When playing on the road, Louisiana is 2-3-1 with a 0-1-1 mark in the Sun Belt. Victories have been against App State and UTRGV, losses have come versus Louisiana Tech, Ole Miss and South Alabama while the lone draw was at Northwestern State.
Salma Elhaimer leads the team with four goals and nine points. She is second with 24 shots and 10 shots on goal behind Carson Glenn's 35 shot attempts and 12 shots on frame. Glenn has also recorded three goals and is one of five players with a team best two assists.
In goal, Natalie Mayes has played all 1,080 possible minutes. She comes into the match with a 1.00 GAA, made 39 saves with a .765 save percentage and recorded four shutouts.
Series History
Texas State leads the all-time series 11-2-2 and are undefeated in the last five meetings (3-0-2). Last season, the teams played to a 1-1 draw in Lafayette in the Sun Belt opener that saw
Kennley Bradley head in a corner kick in the 76th minute to tie the contest.
When hosting the Cajuns, the Bobcats are 6-0-0 all-time. The most recent home match was on Sept. 17, 2023 and ended in a 3-0 victory. Three of the home contests have been one-goal wins while the other three have been by three or more tallies that occurred on Oct. 8, 2017 (3-0), Sept. 22, 2000 (9-0) and the 2023 meeting.
