Bobcats Return to Competition at Old Glory Gallup

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State cross country is set to compete in the DBU Old Glory Gallup, hosted by Dallas Baptist University, on Saturday, Oct. 11, after a month long break.

The meet will be held at AP Ranch in Fort Worth, Texas. The men's race will feature an 8K at 8:15 a.m., followed by the women's 5K at 9:15 a.m.

An awards ceremony will follow the women's race at 10 a.m.

The men's and women's individual champions will receive a custom crowned cowboy hat. The team champions will earn a custom 6-inch championship belt buckle, and the top seven finishers on each winning team will receive a 3-inch buckle.

The top 25 runners in each race will receive a custom Old Glory Gallup T-shirt.

The men's 8K lineup includes Jack Deelman, David Herring, Henok Hagos, Nathan Morales, Elias Palmer, David Mendez-Serrato and Anthony Sandoval.

The women's 5K lineup features Rebecca Davila, Nyomi Garcia, Kimberly Gloria, Alexia Tiscareno Macias, Abigail Parra, Sofia Pena, Sanai Robinson and Destiney Rose.

Both the men's and women's cross country teams have found success early in the season.

The women's team opened the year with second and fourth place finishes, led by Alexia Tiscareno Macias, who placed in the top five at both the UIW Twilight and the UIW Invitational.

The men's team has earned third place finishes in each of its two meets this season. Elias Palmer, Anthony Parra and Jack Deelman have been among the team's top performers. Henok Hagos is set to make his sophomore debut Saturday morning.
