Bobcats Posts Two Top-Five Finishes at Sun Belt Championships

FOLEY, Ala. – Texas State cross country closed out the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Championships on Friday with two top-five team finishes.

Texas State women placed third with 98 points in the 5K, finishing with an average time of 17:38. The men finished fourth with 121 points in the 8K and an average time of 25:06.

On the women's side, Abigail Parra led the Bobcats and won the women's 5K race to become the Sun Belt Cross Country Champion. Parra crossed the finish line in 16:52.10, setting a personal best. She was also named the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Women's Runner of the Year.

Finishing right behind her was Alexia Tiscareno Macias, who placed second in 17:09.40 and also recorded a personal best. Nyomi Garcia followed with a 13th-place finish, clocking a personal best of 17:42.90.

Parra and Macias earned All-Sun Belt First Team honors, while Garcia received All-Sun Belt Third Team honors.

On the men's side, Henok Hagos led the Bobcats with a seventh-place finish and a personal-best time of 24:19.9, earning All-Sun Belt First Team honors.

Senior Anthony Parra finished 16th in 24:51.6 to earn All-Sun Belt Third Team honors.

Anthony Sandoval was the third Bobcat to cross the line, finishing 26th in 25:12.9.
