Bobcats Set for NCAA South Central Regional in Fayetteville

SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State cross country will continue its 2025 campaign in Fayetteville, Arkansas, this Friday at the NCAA South Central Regional.

The women's team will compete in a 6K race beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men's 10K at 11:30 a.m. Both women's and men's races will be held at Agri Park in Fayetteville, Ark.

The women's lineup includes Rebecca Davila, Nyomi Garcia, Kimberly Gloria, Alexia Tiscareno Macias, Abigail Parra, Sanai Robinson and Destiney Rose

The men's team features Eyan Calico, Jack Deelman, Henok HagosDavid Mendez-Serrato, Elias Palmer, Anthony Parra and Anthony Sandoval.

The NCAA South Central Regional field includes Abilene Christian, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Baylor, Central Arkansas, East Texas A&M, Houston, Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, LSU, Lamar, Little Rock, Louisiana, Nicholls State, North Texas, Rice, Southeastern Louisiana, SMU, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, TCU, Tarleton State, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas State, Tulane, ULM, UT Arlington, UTRGV and UTSA.

The Bobcats are coming off a week long break after competing in the Sun Belt Cross Country Championships on Halloween, where the women placed third and the men finished fourth.

Both the women's and men's teams had several standout individual performances at the Sun Belt Cross Country Championships and look to build on that momentum at the NCAA South Central Regional.

On the women's side, Abigail Parra stole the show, winning the 5K in a personal-best time to become the Sun Belt individual champion. Parra also earned the Sun Belt Women's Runner of the Year award and First Team All-Conference honors.

Alexia Tiscareno Macias also had an impressive showing, finishing the 5K in a personal-best time to place second behind Parra. Macias, who has won two meets this season, was also named to the First Team All-Conference.

On the men's side, Henok Hagos looks to build on his strong performance from the conference meet, where he finished seventh in the 8K with a personal-best time. Hagos became the third Bobcat to earn First Team All-Conference honors.
