SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State softball head coach
Ricci Woodard announced Friday afternoon that Max Lopez is joining her coaching staff as the Director of Player Development.

Ricci Woodard. "His experience at a program like Texas A&M and as a former student athlete will help him be an asset to our program and our student athletes."
Max joins the Bobcats after serving as a graduate assistant last season at Texas A&M with their softball program. During his time there he oversaw bullpens during games and caught bullpens during practice. He also helped with off the field duties in both recruiting and player development. Lopez graduated from Texas A&M with his Master of Science in Sport Management in May of 2023.
Prior to his time on the Texas A&M coaching staff, he worked for Texas A&M's 12
th Man Foundation where he oversaw premium club and suite areas during Aggie home events. During his collegiate career, Lopez played baseball for Temple College from 2018-19 where he made an NJCAA World Series appearance and was named to the 2019 Academic All-Conference team.
Lopez joins the Bobcats coming off a 2024 Sun Belt Conference Championship. The team made its second consecutive NCAA tournament appearance and 12
th in program history during the 2024 season.
