TROY, Ala.– Texas State softball starts its run in the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Tournament tomorrow, May 8 at 4 pm.
The Bobcats will wait to find out their opponent, they will play the winner of the game between Troy and James Madison tonight at 7 pm.
The entirety of the tournament will be broadcast on ESPN+ except for Championship Saturday which will be broadcast on ESPN2.
GAME NOTES
ABOUT THE BOBCATS:
Texas State enters the week with a 34-18 record on the year, with a 16-8 record in Sun Belt play as the conference regular season champions. This comes after a 3-0 weekend at ULM to end the regular season where the Bobcats clinched the outright championship.
Texas State's offense is led by first basemen
Aiyana Coleman. She is batting .429 with 51 hits, 17 home runs and 55 RBI this season. She owns the Bobcats all-time single season record for home runs and RBI in a season after hitting her 16

th against ULM, as well at tallying four RBI to push her to 55 this season.
Rounding out the batting order is
Megan Kelnar (.340) who was named First Team All-Conference alongside
Ciara Trahan who is batting .317 and is currently top 10 in program history for batting average, hits, runs scored and stolen bases. She and
Keely Williams (.303) have the second most hits of any Bobcats (46) this season. Also among the top of the batting order is
Sydney Harvey (.295), and
Bailee Slack (.303).
In the circle, the Bobcats have one of the top pitching staffs in the nation. Texas State has a staff ERA of 2.81 which is top 40 in the nation. Leading the Bobcats in the circle is sophomore Maddy Azua who has a 2.71 ERA in 168 innings of work, with 186 strikeouts in that time.
Emma Strood has a 2.82 ERA in 116.2 innings of work. The pair also are a big part of the Bobcats' conference-best WHIP rate.
Texas State is 2025 Sun Belt Regular Season Champions and enter the conference tournament at the No. 1 seed.

The Sun Belt Conference Tournament is a single-elimination format over the course of four days, this time out of Troy, Alabama. The first round will be tonight, May 7
th with games between James Madison/Troy and Coastal Carolina/Southern Miss.
Texas State has never faced four of the nine other teams in the tournament this season before in postseason play (James Madison, Coastal Carolina, Southern Miss, Georgia Southern). Against other teams in the field, Texas State has a 9-11 record all-time in the Sun Belt Tournament, having never lost to Troy, Marshall or App State in the postseason.
Texas State will play the winner of the James Madison/Troy game in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
